Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website, services, and facilities of Pacific Flight Academy LLC ("PFA," "we," "us," or "our"), located at 14 Lagoon Dr., Honolulu, HI 96819. Our services include flight training, discovery flights, FAA PSI testing, and related programs. By accessing our website, enrolling in training, booking services, or using our facilities, you agree to these Terms.

1. Services Provided

Flight Training: Private Pilot, Commercial Pilot, Instrument Rating, Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), and Multi-Engine training under FAA Part 61, including the Horizon Air Pilot Development Program (PDP).

Discovery Flights: 45-minute introductory flights in Sling 2 NGT or Cessna 172 aircraft.

FAA PSI Testing: Airman Knowledge Tests for pilot, mechanic, and drone certifications.

Facility Use: Access to our training center at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport for enrolled students and renters.

All services operate under FAA regulations, TSA requirements, and PFA policies including dispatch and checkout procedures.

2. Eligibility and Registration

Age Requirements:

  • Minimum age 12 for discovery flights (parental consent required for minors)
  • Ages 14-23 for specific FAA tests per the FAA Airman Knowledge Testing Matrix

TSA Compliance: Non-U.S. citizens must complete TSA clearance via https://www.fts.tsa.dhs.gov/home, provide passport and visa documentation, and a second form of government-issued ID. TSA approval documentation and a hangar photograph must be uploaded to Flight Schedule Pro on Day 1 of training.

Documentation: You must submit a signed Membership Agreement, valid government-issued ID (passport or driver's license), and all required forms available on our Documents page. Incomplete forms will be returned.

Health Standards: You must meet FAA medical certificate requirements (e.g., Class 3 Medical Certificate for Private Pilot). Non-compliance may result in denial of services without refund.

3. Booking and Payments

Scheduling: Services may be booked via Flight Schedule Pro or by contacting fly@pacificflightacademy.com.

Payment Structure: Discovery flights require a deposit of $250 (subject to change), which is applied toward services. Remaining balances are billed after service through our secured payment processor. Visiting pilots must provide payment details in advance.

Cancellation Policy: You may cancel or reschedule up to 24 hours prior to your appointment for a full refund (redeemable within one year). No-shows or late cancellations forfeit the deposit. Weather-related cancellations receive a full refund or rescheduling at no additional cost.

Rates: Our rates are subject to change. Current pricing is available on our Fleet & Rates page. Hawaii sales tax applies to all services.

4. Safety and Conduct

Safety Compliance: You must adhere to PFA safety protocols, FAA regulations (14 CFR Parts 61 and 91), and instructor guidance at all times. Sling 2 NGT aircraft require 5 hours of dual training before solo flight.

Conduct Standards: You must maintain respectful and professional behavior. Harassment, disruption, or unsafe actions will result in removal from the premises and termination of services without refund.

Aircraft Use: You may not operate any aircraft without proper authorization. Damage to aircraft or equipment due to negligence is the user's responsibility (subject to insurance coverage).

Weather Authority: PFA reserves the right to cancel or postpone flights due to unsafe weather conditions per our Dispatch Policy weather minimums. Students are expected to check weather conditions via FAA-approved sources such as ForeFlight.

5. Intellectual Property

All website content, logos, checklists (including the Sling 2 NGT Checklist), and training materials are owned by PFA or used under license. You may use these materials for personal training purposes only. Reproduction or distribution without written permission is prohibited.

6. Liability and Disclaimers

Risk Acknowledgment: Flight training and aviation involve inherent risks, including but not limited to overwater flights and mountainous terrain operations. By participating in our services, you assume these risks. PFA maintains a strong safety record with over 10,000 annual flight hours but cannot assume liability beyond our control.

Insurance: PFA carries aviation liability insurance. Renters and students may need additional coverage depending on their use of our aircraft.

Service Warranty: Services are provided "as is." We do not guarantee specific outcomes such as FAA test passage or certification attainment.

7. Termination

We may terminate your access to services for:

  • Non-compliance with these Terms, FAA/TSA rules, or PFA policies
  • Non-payment or fraudulent activity
  • Unsafe or disruptive behavior

Terminated users forfeit any deposits. No refunds are provided for incomplete services following termination.

8. Dispute Resolution

Governing Law: These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Hawaii, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Arbitration: Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Honolulu, HI, in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. You waive the right to participate in class action lawsuits.

Initial Contact: Before initiating arbitration, please email your concern to fly@pacificflightacademy.com so we may attempt to resolve the matter informally.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updates will be posted at this page with a new effective date. Your continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will notify you of significant changes via email or website notice.
